Tip: enable 2FA right after signup (next steps) to protect your account.

Signup failed, or waiting for the email?
Use the signup answer for field errors. If the account was created but the email is missing, open the verification guide instead of restarting the whole setup.
Click the verification link in your inbox to activate your account.
What you’ll need
Access to your email inbox (and spam folder).
A few minutes for the email to arrive.
If it’s missing
Check spam/junk and "Promotions" tabs.
Try resending the verification email from your account page.
Once verified, you’ll be able to complete security and exchange connection steps.

Find the missing step, not a new account.
Check the mailbox and the address you used, then look for the resend option in your account where available. If a link arrived but failed, note that separately. This checklist cannot confirm delivery or verification.
Enhance account security with an authenticator app.
What you’ll need
An authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy).
A safe place to store backup / recovery codes.
Security tips
Save backup codes offline (not in plain text notes).
Use a password manager if possible.
Never share 2FA codes, passwords, or API secrets — even with support.

Can you still access your account?
For first-time setup, follow the 2FA explanation. If access is blocked, use the recovery guide instead. Never include the code, QR image or recovery codes in a support message.
Add a phone number for an extra layer of security / recovery (optional).
What you’ll need
A phone number that can receive SMS (if used).
Access to your device during verification.
Why do it?
It can make account recovery and security confirmations smoother.

This is the optional step.
You can use “Skip for now” to continue this checklist without marking phone verification complete. The setup overview explains where this step fits; the 2FA answer explains the separate authenticator option.
Upload a government‑issued ID to complete the KYC process.
What you’ll need
A government‑issued ID (passport / ID card / driver’s license).
Clear photos (good lighting, no glare).
Quick quality checklist
All corners visible
Text readable
Name matches your account
Tip: finish KYC before connecting exchange keys to avoid setup interruptions.

Check the requesting service first.
Note whether Simply-FX or the exchange is asking for verification, and use that service’s official in-app upload flow. A personal checklist tick does not submit or approve an identity document.
Register on Bitfinex to start trading with Simply‑FX.
What you’ll need
A Bitfinex account (secured with 2FA if possible).
Any exchange verification steps required by Bitfinex.

Once your exchange account is ready, generate API keys for automation.
Best practice: protect your exchange account with 2FA before creating API keys.

Already have an exchange account?
Use the exchange account you have access to and review its required setup steps. When it is ready, continue to API keys. Creating a Simply-FX account does not complete the exchange-side process.
Security rule: bots should use API keys with no withdrawals. Least privilege always.

Already created a key, but still disconnected?
Check the key permissions here, then continue to Link your exchange. If linking returns an error, use the connection troubleshooting guide rather than generating several replacement keys without checking the cause.
Next: choose a bot setup and set conservative risk limits before enabling live trading.

Connection failed, or connected but no trades?
Those need different checks. Use the API guide for a failed connection and the bot guide for an idle bot after connection. Only mark this step complete after checking the result in the actual account screen.
Checklist completion is not account verification. This page does not check KYC approval, enable 2FA, connect API keys, or start a bot. Confirm those states in your account before moving to live trading.
